LPG Gas Cylinder Price: The central government has provided relief to more than 10 crore people across the country. The government had announced earlier that over 10 crore poor families will be given subsidies on LPG cylinders under the PM Ujjwala Yojana. This subsidy of ₹300 will be given, allowing you to purchase a gas cylinder for ₹603.
LPG Gas Cylinder Price
The central government of India runs various schemes for poor families. It has identified more than 10 crore poor families across the country. These families are being given subsidized gas cylinders.
The duration of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana has been extended by 1 year. The scheme was launched in 2016 and was originally supposed to end in March 2024, but now it will continue until March 2025.
Under this scheme, poor families can purchase gas cylinders with a subsidy of Rs 300 per cylinder.

Great news for LPG Gas Cylinder beneficiaries
Last year in October, the government increased the subsidy on a 14.2 kg gas cylinder from ₹200 to ₹300 per refill. This subsidy was set to expire on March 31, but now the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by Minister Piyush Goyal, has decided to extend and increase the subsidy until 2024-25 due to financial reasons.
Relief to poor families
Under the Ujjwala scheme, people had to buy LPG gas cylinders at market prices. But because fuel was expensive, they couldn’t afford to buy the cylinders.
In 2022, the government started giving a subsidy of ₹200 per gas cylinder to the beneficiaries of the PM Ujjwala scheme. This was increased to ₹300 in October 2023.
If you are a beneficiary of the Ujjwala scheme, after receiving the ₹300 subsidy per gas cylinder, you will be able to buy the cylinder at a price of ₹603. The subsidy payment is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the connection holders.
